Heron's Hideaway on Lake Murray

Clean and comfortable house! Kids loved fishing and swimming.

The property description was misleading as there was no two bathrooms in the house. One bathroom was outside the house and the boat lift was not operable and was not disclosed in the write up. The dishwasher did not work. The cleaning lady had to come back in and started cleaning the property. After an hour and a half of her trying to clean up, we finally said, leave it at this point. Little baffled by the reviews as we did not find the property clean.

We live just down the road from the property and were hosting a large family gathering. Heron's Hideaway served as the perfect second home for our large extended family. They enjoyed movie nights in the spacious living room area and enjoyed coffee each morning on the lovely porches and outdoor seating areas. It was the perfect accommodations for our purposes and we will definitely book again in the future!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay on the lake. All communication prior and during our stay was prompt and filled with valuable information. The location of the house on the water was a dream. We loved eating breakfast on the balcony, and fishing well into the evening from the dock. The house accommodated our family of 5 nicely. Each of the kids had their own room, and my husband and I enjoyed the Primary bedroom on the upper level. We were surprised to find there was no bathroom on the upper level which was a bit of an inconvenience. The kids used the main bathroom which is located inside the home on the main level, and my husband and I used the lower level bathroom that you do have to walk outside to access. It was nice to have our own bathroom, but having to walk outside to access it wasn't what we had expected. There were ample towles for both shower and lake use. The kitchen was well equipped, and we ate most of our meals at the house. The home is a bit remote so if you plan to eat out often, the nearest restaurant appeared to be about 20 mins depending on what type of food you're looking for. Groceries are also about 20 minutes from the property, as is a gas station (so plan accordingly). We receive permission to dock a boat at the dock at the house which was super convenient. Be prepared for spiders, they leave a bush to clear them in the morning. A/C and Wifi worked great!

We enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The dock and swimming area was great & I really liked having the boat ramp on the property. The house was nice and comfortable for us. My only complaint was the upstairs bedroom. The bedroom was nice and comfy but with no blinds or curtains on the windows it was daytime bright at 6am so I slept downstairs after the first night. Thanks again for letting us stay!!
